Our focus is on high acid, smooth tannin, classically built Pinot noir (and related projects like rosé of Pinot and sparkling Pinot) and a very small quantity of mineral-oriented Chardonnay. We invite you to explore our small family of distinct wines.
Punches above
It’s the bottle you had as a glass pour in Aspen or NYC, bought by the case to open on a Tuesday. Absolute quality, sans price or formality.
Find them at your neighborhood fine wine shop, on your favorite menu, or buy wines direct from the winery.
GLASS
Willamette Valley White Pinot Noir
Think summer patio and a turn-of-the-century dry rosé Champagne with no bubbles. 100% Pinot Noir. $25
PROVOCATEUR
Willamette Valley Pinot Noir
In Burgundy, there are those producers whose village-level bottlings eclipse their neighbor’s Premier Cru. Same here. $28
CLARION
Atypical Willamette Valley Pinot Noir
Clarion plays as a summer, chill-able red. It blurs the lines, with the color and fruit of a red and the acidity and structure of a white. $26
Flagship wines
These are the wines that built the winery’s reputation. High in acid and sophisticated in style, the nexus of power and grace, they express the story of their vintage year.
Find these wines on the top wine lists in the world, in your wine club box once annually, or in our webstore.
VESPIDAE
Willamette Valley Pinot Noir
The original. Our core, at-home, restaurant, and collector bottle. Complex, nuanced, and 10+ years ageable. $48
LUCIDITÉ
Willamette Valley Chardonnay
Exceptional demands the right material grown in the right place. This is. European style, substantial acid, savory, mineral, Chard. $38
Limited bottlings
Limited to the best barrels from specific single-vineyards, these wines are 10-to-20 year hurdlers. Individualistic, they are highly gifted in expressing their “soil and site.”
Available almost exclusively to our wine club, these are rare bottlings each and every year.
Pinnacle of the program
The top. Aged for 5 years, everything in the right place at the right time, nothing extraneous, like the best diamonds, without inclusions. One or two barrels, not every year, and only if exceptional.
Available exclusively direct from the winery.
CUVÉE LOLA
Willamette Valley Pinot Noir
The pinnacle. Produced only if exceptional. Aged a minimum of five years. Named after Jim & Allison Prosser’s only daughter Lola. $110
Projects
These are our special, never thrifty, lacking moral turpitude, occasional, long-term, conditions were right, always wanted to do, “Projects”. The “Vanity” is silent.
INSUBORDINATION
Willamette Valley 20 Year Dessert Wine
A complex, sweet, shy-of-cloying, 17% fortified dessert wine, fashioned not dissimilar to a tawny port, but in the solera style of an Australian Rutherglen “Sticky.” The nose suggests caramel corn, the palate, Heath bar and rum-raisin on good acid. $48
