Visit & taste

We are a bit quiet for the winter

January, Mon to Fri: Winery operations continue, but the tasting room is closed. We are available 10am to 4pm for wine pick ups. Closed on weekends.

February: Open Friday & Saturday, 11am to 4pm, for tasting appointments (Mon to Sat for wine pick ups). Make an appointment on the reservation app, Tock. Closed Sunday.

March: We re-open for weekend (Fri, Sat, Sun) tastings! Reservations for tastings are appreciated, but we’ll do our best to accommodate walk-ins or last-minute appointments. We are available Friday, Saturday and Sunday with start times between 11am and 3pm for groups of six or fewer. Our seated tasting is $25/person, refundable with a $100 purchase or wine club sign up (club members complimentary). Please use the Tock “book now” button to reserve your tasting. You will also have the chance to book your tasting with accompanying cheese board. Call us! 503-554-0721.

JKC HISTORICAL TASTING

Join us to span the arc of time, and wine, with J.K. Carriere. We’ll start with a glass in hand and talk origin while kicking soil in the vineyard. Next we’ll take it into the cellar as a means of better understanding wine in process, with barrel tasting as verification. Properly bolstered, we’ll retire to the caves, sit, taste and chat intimately about our current wines, then elevate to library wines that are beginning to hit their stride. Finally, we’ll reach back in time and taste older bottles to understand this celebration of fully mature. Our knowledgeable staff will try and bury you (in the best way!) with all aspects of J.K. Carriere’s approach to viticulture and winemaking. Finally, lest you worry, we’ll release you to the light to make decisions armed with new knowledge.

Historical Tastings are limited to six guests and available by mutually agreeable appointment Monday through Thursday, with at least two days of advance notice required. The $75 per person tasting fees must be prepaid ($50/person for club members, no prepayment; please book directly with JKC).

CURBSIDE PICK UP AT J.K. CARRIERE

Please order wine ahead by visiting our webstore.

Detailed Directions

9995 NE Parrett Mtn. Rd., Newberg, OR 97132

CLICK HERE FOR A PRINTABLE VERSION OF THE DIRECTIONS AND MAP.

You can google a map, but some of the mapping programs take you on winding, gravel roads. The best routes are:

FROM HWY 99W, FOLLOW THE BLUE HIGHWAY DIRECTIONAL SIGNS:

  • See the directional signs approx 4.5 miles south of Sherwood and approx 1 mile north of Newberg

  • Turn east on Haugen Road, wind uphill approx 2 miles until the stop at Parrett Mountain Rd.

  • Turn right onto Parrett Mtn. Rd., and continue winding uphill, then downhill approx 2 miles.

  • The winery is on the next corner after the tidy, yellow Century Parrett Mtn Farm. When you see the vineyard with boulders at the road, you’re here.

FROM I-5, TAKE EXIT 283 AT WILSONVILLE.

  • Go west at the exit onto Wilsonville Rd, travel about 4.5 miles.

  • Go right at Ladd Hill Rd. Travel about half a mile, and at the top of the first crest in the hill, go left on Kramien (the Kramien sign is hard to see).

  • Go right on Parrett Mtn. Road.

  • Veer left on Corral Creek Rd, and take an immediate hard right back onto Parrett Mtn. Rd (you’re almost there!).

  • Go up the hill and when you see a line of boulders and vineyard on the left, you’re here.
